An Italian biomedical engineer encounters experimental poetry

An interview with Enea Parimbelli about ModPo

I spoke today with Enea Parimbelli, who has fallen accidentally and headlong into contemporary U.S. poetry through the massive open online course called ModPo.  I recorded our conversation. His favorite part of the syllabus is the week on the Language poets. One of his favorites during that week is Ron Silliman, and he speaks here of the delight and surprise of coming all the way from Milan, entering the Kelly Writers House (which he had only known through the ModPo videos and live webcasts) and finding himself sitting next to Silliman himself at a reading featuring Rae Armantrout. Here is the recording of our discussion: MP3.
