Arkadii Dragomoshchenko
Arkadii Dragomoshchenko (1946–2012) stood out among contemporary Russian poets as a brilliant, relentlessly inventive essayist, poet, translator, and theorist — all of whose writings exceeded those forms’ boundaries. His work is available in English as Description (1990), Xenia (1994), Chinese Sun (2005), Dust (2009), and Endarkenment (2014); the translators are Lyn Hejinian, Elena Balashova, Evgeny Pavlov, Eugene Ostashevsky, and Genya Turovskaya, among others. Recordings of Dragomoshchenko are available on Pennsound.
