Yvette Poorter
Yvette Poorter is an artist, curator and writer living in Rotterdam. During the past ten years she has been developing Dwelling for Intervals, an International Artist Residency that has hosted and collaborated with more than 150 artists internationally. Her work has been exhibited at Quartier Ephemere (Montreal), Aomori Contemporary Art Centre and Moriuchi Architect (Japan), BuroDijkstra Gallery (Rotterdam), L’oiel de poisson (Quebec), Center for Contemporary Arts (Santa Fe), SOX36 (Berlin), Ouve (Lisbon). Her fiction, prose and essays have been published by conundrum Press, Mercer Union, Archis Archives, Vehicule Press, and Matrix Magazine. Yvette is now pointed north, where she hopes to finally release her Dwelling for Intervals project by planting the forest of flags on drifting icebergs in the Arctic Circle and burning the archives for a final re-presentation via smoke signals.
