Angela Gardner
Angela Gardner is the author of two books of poetry: Parts of Speech (UQP 2007), which in manuscript won the 2006 Arts Queensland Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize, and Views of the Hudson (Shearsman Books Ltd., UK 2009), written during a Churchill Fellowship visit to New York. She previously won the 2004 Bauhinia/Idiom 23 Prize. Angela’s work has appeared in Meanjin, Poetry Wales, Brand Literary Magazine, and Kenyon Review Online, and in print anthologies. She originally trained in fine art at UWIC (Wales, UK) and postgrad at Queensland College of Art (Griffith Uni). She also practices as a visual artist. Her work is held in public collections including the National Gallery of Australia; National Library of Wales; National Museum and Gallery of Wales, UK; Queensland State Library, National Art Library Collection; Resim ve Heykel Müzesi, Istanbul, Turkey; University of Hawai’i at Manoa; and the National Art Library, Victoria and Albert Museum, London, UK.
