William J. Harris
William J. Harris lives and writes in Brooklyn, New York. Among his books are The Poetry and Poetics of Amiri Baraka: The Jazz Aesthetic (criticism), Hey Fella Would You Mind Holding This Piano A Moment (poetry), In My Own Dark (poetry), and “Crooners” (poetry). He is the editor of The LeRoi Jones/Amiri Baraka Reader, Call and Response: The Riverside Anthology of The African American Literary Tradition, and other titles. Moreover, his work has appeared in numerous journals, including The African American Review, Callaloo, art forum, The Boston Review, Jacket2 and Catamaran, and is forthcoming in Some Other Blues: New Perspectives on Amiri Baraka.
