Trevor Winkfield
Trevor Winkfield was born in Leeds, England, in 1944. After attending Leeds College of Art, he studied painting at the Royal College of Art and moved to New York in 1969. He has exhibited his paintings regularly, most recently with Tibor de Nagy Gallery. He has collaborated on books with many writers and poets, including John Ashbery, Harry Mathews, John Yau, Larry Fagin, Barbara Guest, and Ron Padgett. His collection of art essays, “Georges Braque and Others: Selected Art Writings 1990–2009” will be published by the Song Cave. Pressed Wafer will publish his conversations with Miles Champion under the title “How I Became a Painter.”
