Richard Swigg, formerly senior lecturer in English at Keele University, has written Lawrence, Hardy and American Literature, Charles Tomlinson and the Objective Tradition; Look With the Ears: Charles Tomlinson’s Poetry of Sound; Speaking With George Oppen: Interviews with the Poet and Mary Oppen; and Quick, Said the Bird: Williams, Eliot, Moore and the Spoken Word. George Oppen: The Words in Action, is forthcoming from Bucknell University Press. He has brought together and published the collected recordings of Tomlinson, William Carlos Williams, Hugh MacDiarmid, and Basil Bunting. His edition of Williams recordings was published online by PennSound in 2007, followed by his collection of George Oppen recordings in 2009.
