Julie Alpert makes drawings, sculptures, and installations that address nostalgia, decoration, disappointment, and standards of femininity. She was born and raised in the Washington, DC, suburbs and has lived in Seattle since 2006. She is currently living in New Mexico on a one-year Roswell Artist in Residence Fellowship. Julie has an MFA from the University of Washington and a BA from the University of Maryland. She has received awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The MacDowell Colony, Artist Trust, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and The Neddy Awards. She is represented by Bridge Productions in Seattle.
