Julia Bloch


Julia Bloch is editor (with Michael Hennessey) of Jacket2. Recent essays, reviews, and poetry appear in Aufgabe, P-Queue, Journal of Modern Literature, and How2; her books include Letters to Kelly Clarkson, a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award, and Valley Fever, from Sidebrow Books. From 2006 to 2011 she cocurated the Emergency reading series at the Kelly Writers House at the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed a PhD in English literature; from 2011 to 2013 she worked as an assistant professor of literature at Bard College’s MAT program. She now directs the creative writing program at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2017 she was awarded a Pew Fellowship in the Arts.
