Jen Crawford
Jen Crawford was born in Patea, Taranaki, in 1975 and spent her early years in New Zealand and the Philippines. She moved to Australia to study in the mid-1990s, eventually completing a PhD in creative arts through the University of Wollongong. In 2000 Five Islands Press published her poetry sequence Admissions, which was shortlisted for the Anne Elder and Dame Mary Gilmore awards. Her other publications include bad appendix (Auckland: Titus Books, 2009), Napoleon Swings (Auckland: Soapbox Press, 2009), and Pop Riveter (Auckland: Pania Press, 2011). In 2009 Crawford accepted a position as assistant professor in creative writing at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
