Jacquilyn Weeks
Jacquilyn Weeks is a Mellon Fellow and PhD candidate in the English Department at the University of Notre Dame. She is currently completing her dissertation "Fairies, Fairy Tales, and the Development of British Poetics," a trans-genre study that brings together poetics, fairy tale, and literary theory scholarship to contend that fairy tale poetry constitutes a formative but unacknowledged movement in 20th century British poetry. She has published articles and reviews in Rethinking Marxism, International Research in Children’s Literature, and métier as well as chapters in Beyond the Anchoring Grounds: More Cross-currents in Irish and Scottish Studies and the forthcoming collection Refashioning Myth: Poetic Transformations and Metamorphoses. She is particularly interested in the way that poets have appropriated fairy tale language to talk about issues of trauma, alienation, and metamorphosis
