Jaya Savige
Jaya Savige’s latest collection of poems is Surface to Air (UQP 2011). His first collection, latecomers (UQP 2005), was awarded the NSW Premier’s Kenneth Slessor Prize and the Thomas Shapcott Prize. In 2007 he was a writer in residence at the B. R. Whiting Studio, Rome. He has given poetry readings in Berlin, London, New York, Prague, Milan, Sydney, and elsewhere. Jaya is currently based in the UK, where he is working on a PhD on modernism and risk at the University of Cambridge. He edits poetry for The Australian newspaper.
