Fred Jeremy Seligson

Fred Jeremy Seligson was born in Washington, D.C., on September 26, 1945. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in 1967 and from Indiana University School of Law with a J.D. in 1970, after which he served as a Peace Corps volunteer lawyer in Ethiopia from 1970-1972. After a world-wander, he studied poetry with Cid Corman in Kyoto, Japan, from 1975-1977 before moving to Seoul, South Korea, to marry and teach at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Most recently he taught at Underwood International College at Yonsei University in the Department of Literature and Culture from 2010-2015. Seligson maintained a rich and lively correspondence with Cid Corman until Corman’s passing in 2002 and is the author of several poetry chapbooks and books on Korean culture, including Oriental Birth Dreams and a book-in-progress called Dragon Dreams.
