Burt Kimmelman

Burt Kimmelman has published six poetry collections, including, most recently, As If Free (Talisman House, 2009), from which a poem was selected to be featured on NPR’s The Writer’s Almanac; a new collection, The Way We Live, is forthcoming (Dos Madres Press, 2011). For over a decade he was senior editor of the now-defunct Poetry New York: A Journal of Poetry and Translation. He has also published several book-length literary studies, among them The “Winter Mind”: William Bronk and American Letters (Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 1998), the first of a number of critical monographs on Bronk, as well as scores of essays on medieval, modern, and contemporary poetry.
