Petra Kuppers
Petra Kuppers (she/her) is a disability culture activist and a community performance artist. Petra grounds herself in disability culture methods and uses ecosomatics, performance, and speculative writing to engage audiences toward more socially just and enjoyable futures. She directs the Olimpias, cocurates Turtle Disco (with Stephanie Heit), and she teaches at the University of Michigan and at Goddard College. Her books include Eco Soma: Pain and Joy in Speculative Performance Encounters (University of Minnesota Press, 2022). She is the producer of the overall EcoSomatics Project, and has edited a special issue on the topic, with many of the contributors here, for the Center for Sustainable Practices in the Arts Quarterly (2020).
