Lauri Scheyer (Ramey)
Lauri Scheyer (Ramey) holds a PhD from the University of Chicago with a specialization in lyric poetry and poetics. Currently, she is founding director of the British and American Poetry Research Center and Xiaoxiang Distinguished Professor at Hunan Normal University, and founding director of the Center for Contemporary Poetry and Poetics and Professor of English at California State University, Los Angeles. Her most recent book is A History of African American Poetry (Cambridge University Press, 2019).
