Wendy Trevino joined hosts Levi Bentley and Ted Rees for this PennSound podcast, the first in a series of intimate conversations in Housework’s transition from reading series to recording series. Conversation topics included Barack Obama’s appearance in Best Experimental Writing 2016, post-arrest listmaking, “unequal collateral,” the organizing-specific shifts of self, acknowledging messy comrade conflict, and further associations drawn from Trevino’s 2018 collection Cruel Fiction.

Wendy Trevino was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. She lives in San Francisco, where she shares an apartment with her boyfriend, friend, and two senior cats. She has published chapbooks with Perfect Lovers Press, Commune Editions, and Krupskaya Books. Brazilian no es una raza — a bilingual edition of the chapbook she published with Commune Editions — was published by the feminist Mexican press Enjambre Literario in July 2018. Her first book-length collection of poems Cruel Fiction was published by Commune Editions in September 2018. Wendy is not an experimental writer.     

Levi Bentley is an artist member at Vox Populi. They teach workshops, most notably through Bluestoop; write for Artblog; and make publications with friends. Bucolic Eclogue was released from Lamehouse Press in July 2016. Chapbooks Obstacle, Particle, Spectacle, &parts, and Stub Wilderness were released from 89plus/LUMA Foundation, Damask Press, and Well Greased Press, respectively. Vitrine released their tape Red Green Blue. Poems have appeared through Apiary, Bedfellows, BlazeVOX, Elective Affinities, Fact-Simile, Gigantic Sequins, Madhouse, Maestra Vida, Magic Pictures, Painted Bride Quarterly, Stillwater Review, The Wanderer, and a variety of other venues.  

Ted Rees is the author of the poetry book In Brazen Fontanelle Aflame (Timeless, Infinite Light), as well as chapbooks the soft abyss (The Elephants), The New Anchorage (Mondo Bummer), and Outlaws Drift in Every Vehicle of Thought (Trafficker Press). Recent work has appeared in Full Stop, Mirage/Period(ical), and is forthcoming in Mary: A Journal of New Writing. He is editor-at-large for The Elephants, and teaches literature and creative writing at Temple University.  — Kenna O’Rourke
