Ben Olin holds a PhD in Cinema Studies from New York University, where he recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship. He has a chapter on the cable show TV Party in the essay collection Downtown Film & TV Culture 1975–2001, ed. Joan Hawkins (Intellect, 2015), and he contributed a text to the New Museum’s XFR Station exhibition catalogue (2013). He is currently working on a book project on cable-TV shows produced by downtown artists — a revision of his dissertation — entitled Underground Networks: Artists’ Television in New York 1973–1986. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
