Julie Phillips Brown

Julie Phillips Brown is a poet, painter, critic, and book artist. After earning an MFA and a PhD at Cornell University, she served as the NEH Postdoctoral Fellow in Poetics at Emory University’s Bill and Carol Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry. Her poems and essays have appeared or are forthcoming in Columbia Poetry Review, Contemporary Women’s Writing, Crab Orchard Review, Denver Quarterly, The Fight & The Fiddle, interim, 
The Oakland Review, 
Plume, Posit, Rappahannock 
Review, Tahoma Literary Review, Talisman, Tulsa Studies in Women’s Literature, Vinyl, Yemassee, and elsewhere. She currently lives in Lexington, Virginia, where she teaches creative writing, studio art, and American literature.
