Benjamin Friedlander

Benjamin Friedlander was born in New Orleans in 1959 and has since lived in Ontario, Missouri, New York, California, New York again, and now Maine. His books of poetry and prose include One Hundred Etudes (Edge, 2012), Citizen Cain (Salt, 2011), The Missing Occasion of Saying Yes (Subpress, 2007), and Simulcast: Four Experiments in Criticism (Alabama, 2004). His editorial work includes collected and selected volumes of prose and poetry by Larry Eigner, Charles Olson, and Robert Creeley. He teaches poetics and American literature at the University of Maine, where he is a member of the editorial collective of the National Poetry Foundation.
